8 month Birthday

Madison turns 8 months old today! Wow! Seems like just yesterday I was bringing my precious baby girl into this world!

Madison Avery minutes old...8 months ago!!

She is growing up so fast. True to what other parents had told us...they do grow up in the blink of an eye! She is learning so much so fast and changes from week to week.

The past week...

*Her two bottom teeth have come in all the way

*One of her top teeth is pushing through...you can see the little white bud

*She is crawling on all fours ALL of the time, not just part-time like.

*She has started rolling away from me in bed (I shed a tear;( though am happy for some alone sleep time)

*She has started to pull herself into a sitting position from laying on her back.

*She has been saying dada constantly (from the second she wakes in the morning. lol)

*When she sees me she'll say "MmmmmmA" (melt my heart) for Mama

*She is pulling up and climbing on everything.

*She will open the Tupperware cabinet and pull everything out and then try to put everything back in!

*She can crawl out of a room in the matter of a few seconds and into another room

*She is starting to wave bye-bye

*She has figured out that if she flips her tongue around, she can make new sounds and form different sounding words.

*when she gets excited (which is always) she kind of does a hyper ventilating noise and kicks her legs and waves her arms!

Man this kid is quick! Before I had a chance to stop her, she had grabbed a fistful of frosting and shoved it to her face! I don't think she ate any...but we'll find out later when it comes time to change a poopy:)

Contained Mess

I know this is kind of a nasty topic, but I could not resist blogging about it! I mean this IS a blog about parenting...pitfalls and all. LOL

Tonight, Madi had the biggest diaper blowout! Technically it wasn't a blowout...more of a contained mess. Thank you Pampers Stay Dry diapers size 3! We just went up a size and being a tad bit big on Madi, saved this from being a true diaper blowout. We have had our fair share of diaper failure and it ain't pretty!

We smelled it before we saw or heard it. Madi was happily playing in her bouncer and gave no indication that she was in the midst of creating a masterpiece. Grant and I looked at one another, sniffing the air.

"Wasn't me!" Grant
"Don't look at me!" Me

Both turning to Madi at the same time, inhaling deep the mystery smell was determined.

When I unsnapped her onesie I discovered a mass quantity of poo. There was such an abundance that it had spilled over the back of the diaper and was clear up her back! The onesie(thank goodness) had kept it from leaking out. We could not pull her outfit over her head because poo would have inevitably gotten in her hair, on her face, etc. So we had to take scissors and cut her it off. A few snips straight up the middle and we had that onesie peeled off her body! It was obvious that she needed to have another bath tonight:)

Funny thing is...this did not faze either one of us in the least bit! It is amazing what you can handle as parents!
